Field Trip to Hidden Villa Farm in Los Altos

To learn more about Hidden Villa, visit www.hiddenvilla.org

We had a great time at Hidden Villa...the first thing we saw was the garden

We used our garden tools (our fingers) to feel the earth

We were able to taste many fun things... some vegetables, some plants, and even some flowers!!!

We learned about composting and how important worms are for our Earth... we loved learning that dirt is really worm poop .....

munch, munch - wiggle, wiggle - poop, poop

We visited the sheep first... they had just gotten a haircut. We learned all about wool, and we whispered about the meat that we eat from lambs!

We then went to the chicken coop.... we fed the chickens some of their favorite plants, got to pet a chicken, and learned a little about eggs.

We then went to check out the pigs.....

I think none of the adults that went on the trip will ever eat a marshmallow again... did you know that jello and marshmallows are made from pig hooves?? We also learned about pigskin footballs, hairbrushes from pig hair, and of course bacon!!

Our last stop was the goats... we were a little afraid of the goats, but everyone had a chance to pet one...

We had a great time... the farm is open to the public.. check out the website for times and more info!!! Thanks to all our parent drivers!
